Figures released by NHS in March 2022 showed that only 63% of eligible families in Blackpool had signed up to the Healthy Start scheme. The campaign saw an increase in uptake of families accessing the scheme from 63% in March 2022 to 76% in March 2024
The accreditation ultimately recognises Blackpool’s commitment to supporting and championing healthier outcomes for babies, parents, and the wider community.
Working in partnership with Better Start on the development of the 1,001 Days e-learning package has been a hugely positive and valuable experience.

Blackpool Better Start received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund between 2014 and 2027. After the 1st April 2027, the fund’s involvement with the programme will cease and Better Start will be operating independently.
